Now that you have a foundation of stewardship and a generosity message that supports your church’s approach to giving, it’s time to spread the word.
Church giving matters, and we can’t be afraid to talk about this. Unfortunately, lots of church leaders don’t talk about giving until it’s too late. TPF is excited to partner with churches in order to help you take a more proactive approach.
To be proactive, you need to start with an overall marketing goal. What is the goal for generosity and stewardship in your church? For the purposes of this discussion, we are going to identify your overall marketing goal as described below:
Create a culture of generosity with a focus on stewardship that increases the growth and support of your church along with your ability to serve God and show His love to others.
The easiest way to guide the effective communications of your generosity message is to implement an overarching marketing strategy (there can be more than one) that is supported by a variety of marketing tactics chosen to most effectively reach your church members. This strategy is a conceptualization of how you will achieve your goal. Below we have provided some sample strategies that you could adopt to guide your marketing efforts through this process:
Tactics you can use to support these strategies include, but are certainly not limited to, creating new content for your website and social media, new and updated print material, Minutes for Mission, celebrations of generosity, and transparent insight into the financial health of your church.
“Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured in your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
